Behind the Brand

We recently had the pleasure of visiting our family across the pond. It was such a highlight to meet the talented people behind our brand and see close up how each Feather Drum garment is made.

Meeting the workers it was a joy to see how they have nurtured their individual skills, whether it was pattern making, cutting, sewing or pressing. One garment gets passed through so many hands and is made with such care and attention to detail.

Anil and Seema took us on a tour through their factory whose core value is to produce quality textiles in an ethical and environmentally friendly manner. We were particularly taken with their Corporate Social Responsibilities. They promote the educational and vocational skills among children, especially girls in rural areas and children with disabilities or from families with financial constraints by providing access to high quality education and scholarships.

They participate in programs and projects geared towards the empowerment of women and take part in initiatives for the conservation of the environment including clean air and sustainable mobility programs. They strongly support organic and recycled fabrics. We were particularly impressed with their recycled wool which we will aim to include in future winter collections.
